THE NOTEBOOK THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING
When I first stepped into Air Force training as a brand‑new Christian and an even newer air traffic controller, I thought the biggest surprises would come from radar screens or instructors barking procedures.
Instead, the surprise came from a notebook.
On day one — before anyone had even learned where the break room was — I noticed a young woman named Angie already reading a notebook. I remember thinking, Training hasn’t even started… what could she possibly be reading notes on?
So I asked.
She looked up, calm as could be, and said, “Oh, this is my notebook for recording sermons at church.”
I laughed — not out of disrespect, but out of pure disbelief. I had never heard of someone taking notes in church. Honestly, I had barely even gone to church myself. That wasn’t part of my world. Yet!
But Angie didn’t flinch. She saw my curiosity as an open door and walked right through it. She invited me to church.
And I went.
And I’ve been going faithfully ever since.
Sometimes I think back to that moment and feel a little like Abraham when he laughed — not because he doubted, but because God was introducing something so unexpected that laughter was the only natural reaction.
I didn’t know it then, but God was planting purpose in me right in the middle of an Air Force classroom.
A notebook. A laugh. An invitation. A new walk.
And today, that simple moment is the heartbeat behind The Walker Sermon Notes. Angie’s notebook showed me that God’s Word isn’t just meant to be heard — it’s meant to be captured, remembered, revisited, and shared. Her habit became my turning point, and now it’s becoming a tool for others to walk with God intentionally.
What started as a curious laugh in a training room has grown into a calling: helping people write down the moments when God speaks, so they can draw near to Him, one step at a time.
HOW THE WALKER CAME TO BE
When the Air Force transferred me to Kansas, I thought it was just another assignment — another move, another base, another chapter. I had no idea God was setting the stage for something far bigger than my career. Wichita became more than a duty station; it became the place where my calling took shape.
Not long after arriving, I accepted a volunteer role as a youth pastor. It wasn’t glamorous. It wasn’t official. It wasn’t even something I had planned. But God had been stirring something in me, and when the opportunity came, I stepped into it with a mixture of excitement and uncertainty.
It began with a group of about thirty teenagers — young hearts full of potential, but drifting. Parents were concerned. Growth had stalled. Something needed to change.
We accepted the challenge.
So I created a notebook. A simple tool with pages for sermon notes, prayer lists, daily reflections, goals, and spiritual checkpoints.
I named it The Monitor.
At first, it was just a resource to help these teenagers stay engaged and intentional. But week after week, I watched something unexpected happen. The notebook didn’t just organize their thoughts — it awakened their walk with God.
I then realized in a moment of prayer and reflection, everything became clear. This wasn’t just for the youth. It was a tool God intended for believers everywhere — not just one church. Something universal. Something timeless. Something meant to strengthen the daily walk of anyone who picked it up.
In that moment, I felt God speak to my heart with unmistakable clarity: To name it after myself. - With my last name being Walker, the name was obvious. The Walker.
And with a lot of study and a dedicated focus group, The Walker was born.
OUR NAME: Walker Strategies
Walker The name Walker is derived from the Old English word Wealcan, which means to advance by steps, or to tread. It was an occupational surname where groups of people walked barefoot on unprocessed wool in a large vat filled with a water mixture in order to cleanse it from all impurities in preparation for weaving.
That picture mirrors Ephesians 5:26 — the cleansing, renewing, and refining work God does in us as we walk with Him.
Today a walker is well known as a walking aid to help a child take their first steps and gives strength and stability to those whose steps have become unsteady through age or injury. Nevertheless Its purpose remains the same—to provide support, build confidence, and help us to keep moving forward one step at a time.
Our definition of a Walker is simply, One who walks with God, Are you a Walker?
Whether you are taking your first steps as a new believer or continuing faithfully for many years, The Walker was designed with John 15 in mind—to help you abide in God and allow His Word to abide in you. That you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; Colossians 1:10
STRATEGIES
Ephesians 6:11 tells us to put on the whole armor of God so we can stand strong against the enemy’s strategies. At Walker Strategies, we shine light on the biblical principle God has already given us — practical, powerful, and proven.
The first strategy we present is Biblical Meditation.
In Joshua 1, Moses has died, and Joshua is stepping into leadership. God encourages Joshua by giving him clear instruction a strategy with promise.
God promised Joshua if he would abide in the principles of this verse, he would make his way prosperous and have good success — This promise is still available to us today. The Key to obtaining it: Biblical Meditation.
Joshua 1:8 is not just a verse. It’s a strategy: a prescription for success.
By utilizing 4 basic principles within Joshua 1:8 We’ve developed Seven Simple Steps to help you get the most out of every sermon,.
Nothing is difficult when you understand it. Psalm 119:130 says, “The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple..”
OUR LOGO

THE REAL STORY BEHIND THE WALKER LOGO
The logo didn’t come from a design meeting or a sketchbook. It came from a moment between me and God.
When I first started this mission, God spoke one word to me that stopped me in my tracks: colossal. I didn’t know what He meant, but I knew it was bigger than me. And because I grew up loving basketball, my first reaction was almost funny — If this is colossal, then I want a logo like Nike. Something bold. Something that stands for movement and purpose.
Days later, I was in my kitchen praying. Nothing fancy. No music. Just me, talking to God the way I knew how. My hands were raised as the sun was shinning through the sliding glass door.
As I stood there, something turned my to face the wall and as I looked up I noticed a shadow of my arms lifted high. And in that moment God said there's your Logo.
Not a brand idea. Not a marketing concept. A SIGN OF SURRENDER.
